Week 7 of 23: Friday

Max Speed: 6.5 mph
Ave Speed: 3.9 mph
Time: 34:30 minutes
Distance: 2.2 miles

Today was an interval day for me. I actually pushed it today and I'm feeling it now. I enjoyed the run though, it felt great! Granted, I did the run on the treadmill (which is so much easier), but I felt great, and pushing the pace up to 6.5 was just plain FUN.

my knee hurts a little bit today, but tomorrow is a rest day so I will baby it.

I'm hoping that the speed work I did today will increase my overall pace... but I'll be honest, this workout felt too good to have been good for me. /wink.

Keep up the running, and have a great weekend!

Wink, indeed! 6.5 is great running boy! I can get to 2.8 but that is only for a few minutes--a few short minutes--

Hi Mark,

Are there any pictures of last weekend where I was giving you running tips?!

I'm proud of your successful day today. I too was successful. I got a good exercise workout. First of all, I was very quiet early this morning when I knew it was time for my human house mate to leave for work. It was great running boy--she said bye Niles, I will see you later--take care of Kitty for me. She locked the door and when I heard the your car she drives leave the driveway, I exited my den keeping an ear to the door. Good! She is gone. Now for the rest of my plans to come into fruition. I wanted to try some tea. I knew how to open the teakettle, but could not keep the teakettle in my mouth, and reach the faucet to fill the teakettle with water. Oh well, I placed it on the floor and was thrilled that there was water coming out of the teakettle. After finishing that up I drank my water in my bowl and decided that after eating the food, I would check out the large plastic container that had Kitty's food in it. I learned how to open it and leave only a few toothmarks on the cover. I am getting better at doing that because when my human house mate comes home, I know she will immediately think it was Kitty who caused the damage. So far, a perfect morning. I felt like Goldilocks and went from the kitchen to the living room taking some items I found in the pantry. Spreading them out on the floor I had an incredible time having my very own taste testing party. Knowing I had a few hours of the whole house to myself where I could be the boss which you know I do love, I left the mess in the living room for Kitty to clean up. I went into the bedroom that is changing color from red to white and I saw a ziplock bag with a paintbrush in it. Normally I would not touch it, but today I had to check it out because I was certain there might be a surprise treat in it for me. Nope--no treat--just a mess. Oh well, never mind that now. I remembered that there was a plastic gallon of water in the other room. Having gotten thirsty from my goodies I had eaten earlier and having depleted my water sources, I went to the water I saw. I got it opened and wow! I was so excited the water came out. Kind of funny tasting, but I took what I wanted. I knew that it had to be like a human treat of sorts like maybe crystal light or something. I saw the letters spelling distilled water on the plastic container, and thought that I should not drink it all, but I had fun watching it spill out on the bed. Well, I took my nap. I dreamed of having invited Goldilocks over to the house and we had a wonderful time--she reached all the items I have dreamed of getting for years but could never reach--and then my human housemate came home--waking me up calling my name as I heard her walking back to the bedroom--man oh man, I felt bad because I could not even offer her any treat to drink. the plastic bottle was empty. I would love to go running again with you. I had so much fun last weekend. It will have to be in a couple of years though. My human housemate told me I was grounded for two years. Too bad. I wanted to practice more on learning how to make tea so I could offer you some the next time I see you!

Your faithful dog, Niles.
